Hooray for healthy chicks! I'll have to bring Aaron over when they're settled to see them, get his mind off of his long-lost sisters! He's a sad boy today. By the way, I LOVE that picture of Jonathan!

Wow! While I am exceedingly sad that you didn't mosey on down here for Winter Jam ( to friends who will MOST assuredly take you whenever we can get you!) I am thrilled that you got to share such an amazing experience/memory with your boys. I have always loved this band, even more so now!!

Abby, yes I keep my lettuce in tubs the entire season. I don't grow head lettuce, just leaf, so we pick as we need and then replant. Ideally, it gets replanted every 2 weeks so that there is always one ready. That's one of the reasons there are 4 buckets. One freshly planted, one coming on, one in full harvest mode and one on it's way out. Also with the buckets you can move them to a cooler spot in the shade during the heat of summer in hopes of continuing to grow more. Probably not possible in AZ, but you can grow lettuce in the winter when we can't.

You should DEFINITELY come to Camp Wood! And babies are always welcome. In fact, last summer we planned it around one of our friend's due dates; I asked her if she'd rather come pregnant or with a newborn. She said, "With a newborn, that way I can sit and snuggle the baby and all the other kids will be off playing and well looked after. I won't have to cook and can just rest." It was perfect! Oh, and pregnant/nursing mommies get special dispensation...a/c and accommodations inside. :)

Wow, what a day!! I can't wait to have a whole litter of kids and all the adventures that will ensue! Um, I LOVE the fact that your kids are wearing bathing suits covered in mud in March in the NE!

Tell me more about your lettuce tubs...can they stay in their all season or do you need to transfer them into the ground?? I can't wait to start planting my spring/summer garden...this was our first year of having a winter garden and I have found it to be soo satisfying to just go outside and bring in things that we can actually eat.

Have a great weekend. Reading this makes me really want to come to Camp Wood some year (won't be this year with the new baby coming, but some year...).

Lois, I love reading about your adventures! It was great reading about the Millers and Demls traveling the globe while I'm stuck at my desk job. You always remind me of what's truly important, and that I want to be just like you when I grow up! (Or at least have you adopt my family and I, lol!)

YOU my friend are the textbook definition of greatness. The whole world is in the little things. I'm SO HAPPY to be part of your family. Thanks for the love, the support, the soup bar, taking care of my jet lagged self, AND the maple syrup (which I am shamelessly hoarding!!) It was one of the most awesome things I've ever done to be part of the Deml's support team. Talk about GREATNESS, the Demls have it. :)

Hi Lois,
What a sweet post! Your littlest angels helping at the sink and your sweet baker making the perfect cake, your two young entrepreneurial boys building a fire and the other two young boys I am sure gathering wood and taste testing cakes! We would love to see the Sap Tapping Time! You are just amazing to watch and sip while the little loves wash away the mess! Sending lots of love your way!
